JOURNALISTS’ CHOICE:
THE BEST STAND DESIGN
The Best Stand Design of BUSWORLD TURKEY 2012 will be chosen by journalists at the Press Day, on 18th of April. Journalists will select two best stand designs, one of which from the Bus Manufacturers and the other one from the Accessory Manufacturers. A trophy will be given to the winning companies during the Opening Cocktail on the evening of 19 April 2012.
Organized by HKF Trade Fairs as an UFI approved event BUSWORLD TURKEY 2012 - International Trade Fair for Bus Industry and Accessories will be held on 19 - 21 April but it will open its doors firstly to the invited media members on Press Day at 18 April as in the previous years. Nearly 60 international and national journalists are invited to the Press Day on which the exhibitor firms will present their latest products and technologies. Special events will accompany the 4th BUSWORLD TURKEY.
The Best Stand Design Contest will be held for the first time and it is decided that the jury members of the contest will be the invited journalists. On the Press Day after the presentations of the exhibitor firms to the media, journalists will be asked to answer which stand they liked the most. BUSWORLD TURKEY will award the winning companies with a trophy during the Cocktail on the evening of 19 April 2012.
BUSWORLD TURKEY 2012 is organizing at the Istanbul Expo Center and until today more than 170 companies have contracted for their stands. This international event will be set on 20,000-sqm total exhibition space in two halls of the Istanbul Expo Center and its Diamond sponsor is Mercedes-Benz.
BUSWORLD TURKEY is an UFI Approved Event, the internationally respected accepted benchmark for quality in international trade fairs and exhibitions.
UITP Conference is on the same dates with BUSWORLD TURKEY
UITP (International Association of Public Transport) will organize its 7th International Bus Conference in Istanbul, Turkey, on 18-20 April 2012 in collaboration with TOHOB, the Turkish Association of Private Buses, and IETT, the General Directorate for Istanbul Buses. The Conference is supported by BUSWORLD TURKEY and the two events will be held around the same dates. The distinguished conference participators will visit BUSWORLD TURKEY on 20 April 2012.
The Awards for Road Passenger Transportation
The supporter of BUSWORLD TURKEY, TOFED (Coacher Federation of Turkey) is organizing a ceremony to give the Awards for Road Passenger Transportation 2011 for the first time in Turkey. The Awards will be organized with the support of Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications; The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB), universities, NGOs, bus production companies and media which its criteria for the selection will be set by a special jury. Its ceremony will be held on Gala evening as the part of the event program of BUSWORLD TURKEY 2012.

BUSWORLD TURKEY 2012, the International Trade Fair for the Bus Industry and Accessories will be organized from April 19 to 21, 2012 in the Halls 1 and 2 of the Istanbul Expo Center, gathering the industry’s professionals together.

BUSWORLD TURKEY, the International Trade Fair for the Bus Industry and Accessories, organized by HKF TRADE FAIRS together with BUSWORLD KORTRIJK INTERNATIONAL, will be organized from April 19 to 21, 2012 in the Halls 1 and 2 of the Istanbul Expo Center, gathering the industry’s professionals together.
BMC, Mercedes-Benz, Otokar and Temsa as the biggest bus manufacturers of Turkey, already signed for the 4th edition of BUSWORLD TURKEY 2012, the Turkish version of Busworld Kortrijk. Until today 110 companies have contracted for their stands and more companies are following.
A Press Day has been organized for the members of the domestic and foreign media scheduled for Wednesday 18th April. As many as 60 domestic and foreign media members are expected to join the event and to have interviews with the participating companies about their newest products and innovations.

TOFED is organizing a panel to discuss the following topics, “Sector overview; difficulties and problems of the sector and suggestions about solutions; history and future of the family corporations”.
The Awards for Road Passenger Transportation
TOFED will give awards to honor the sector of passenger transportation for the first time in Turkey. “Alternative fuel & drive systems; the future in Turkey”
BUSWORLD INTERNATIONAL contributes to the bus industry to be more eco-friendly and sustainable. With this goal, it is been organized a seminar to share the technological innovations with the sector professionals and to determine the needs of the industry. The seminar agenda will be “Alternative fuel & drive systems; the future in Turkey” and Doug Jack has been invited to Turkey to be the moderator of the event. Ahmet Taygur (BMC), Sami İşmen (Mercedes-Benz Turk), Dr. Mark Lawday (Luxfer) and Ahmet Hacıyunus (Otokar) will make presentations about this topic. Seminar will be held on 20th April, 11.00 am.

“Safety of Wheelchair in Public Transportation”
TÖHOB is organizing a panel to draw attention to the Turkish Law 5378 on Disabled People. According to the law public transportation must be suitable for the people with limited mobility and it sets a deadline of July 2012 for making public buildings and local transport accessible to disabled people. TÖHOB’s seminar agenda will be “Safety of Wheelchair in Public Transportation” and Deniz Diker (QSTARINT) will give a speech.

“Fire detection and ECE-TRANS-WP29-2009-104 will be law in Turkey”
Firedect GMBH is supplying the most efficient fire suppression to the Bus OEMs in Europe and abroad. No injuries or important damage by fire incidents has to be claimed since starting the production of the new fire suppression system. Their system detects fires starting in the engine compartment or under the chassis of the car or bus. Firedect is organizing a symposium to present this product as a standard in public-use transportation.
